In Zukunftsmusik geht es um Zeit. Ein aus höchst natürlichen Gründen für uns prominenter werdendes Thema, das sich zunehmend in unsere Arbeit drängte, nachdem Hannes Heiner von Lille 2004 mit der Konstruktion eines "nouveau jaquemart" beauftragt worden war und daraufhin das rechts zu sehende "jaquemart des monstres" realisierte. Als mechanische Spieluhr animiert es im 5 Minuten Takt einzelne Charaktere des Ensembles, um zur vollen Stunde eine längere, alle Kreaturen einbeziehende, Sequenz aufzuführen. Ausgehend von Texten, die während des Aufenthaltes in Lille entstanden und unter Einbeziehung literarischer und philosophischer Zitate aus zwei Jahrtausenden, haben wir eine Abstraktion von Theater entwickelt, die ausschliesslich Maschinenakteure involviert und das Thema aus dem Blickwinkel der höchst unterschiedlichen Charaktere des Jaquemarts beleuchtet: Der technokratischen Zukunftsgläubigkeit der "Klackerhälse" steht die zweifelnde Rückwärtsgewandheit des "Vierauges" gegenüber. Die unbeschwerte Tänzerin "Orangina", geht bar aller Zweifel und niederer Absichten fröhlich "mit der Zeit" während die "Sonne" wissend lächelnd den individuellen Engstirnigkeiten entsteigt. Die Kreaturen der den Bühnenraum definierenden ChiMech Container illustrieren und kommentieren diese Reflexionen in Wort und Musik. Zukunftsmusik harrt, wie der Name andeutet, der Vollendung. Drückender Finanzmangel hat uns vielerorts zu Reduktion und Improvisation gezwungen. Wir danken allen, deren Hilfe und Geduld es ermöglicht haben, das Stück doch in eine aufführbare Form zu bringen. The subject, quite naturally gaining prominence for us, got into focus even more when Hannes Heiner was asked to create a "nouveau jaquemart" for Lille2004, resulting in the "jaquemart des monstres" as shown on the left. As a clockwork it plays small pieces every 5 minutes, bigger ones every quarter of an hour and a long sequence on the full hour. Derived from texts and poems that came to live during our stay in Lille, we have developed a piece that assembles those texts, literal and philosophical texts from 2 milleniums to an abstraction of theatre that solely features mechanical actors and reflects upon time from the viewpoint of the highly different characters that populate the Jaquemart: The "Klackerhälse" with their technocratic believe in future are opposed by the doubtfull, backward bound and melancholic "Vierauge". Optimistic dancer "Orangina", does not spend much time in thinking, but happily adapts trends and fashion, while the sun, wisely knowing, rises above the narrowness of the individual characters' worlds. The creatures inhabiting the ChiMech containers, used to define the stage room, comment on these reflexions in word and music. Zukunftsmusik - a hard to translate german term, that describes an idea as not only being ahead of reality, but also being widely residing in the fields of phantasy - is as the word says not completely finished. Horrendous financial problems have forced us to reduce and improvise through the last months.
